An Introduction to the Chakra System

I’ve been watching a series on Gaia that LIT UP my Sacral Chakra and I knew to bring it here!

Working with energy is something I experience every day.
And what I’ve come to know is this:

Energy isn’t complicated. It’s about awareness.

My intention is to guide you into a deeper understanding of the 7 main chakras, which are the core of spiritual knowledge and play a powerful role in shaping your reality.

What Are Chakras?

Chakras are energy centers within the body that influence how we feel physically, emotionally, and energetically.

The word “chakra” comes from Sanskrit and translates to “wheel”. Think of them as spinning energy wheels that run from the base of your spine to the crown of your head.

Each chakra holds a specific frequency and is connected to different aspects of your life.

The 7 Main Chakras

❤️ Root Chakra (Muladhara)
‍ ‍Grounding. Safety. Stability.

This is your foundation. Where you feel supported, provided for, and safe.

Your connection to source support, resources, and finances.

🧡 Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana)
‍ ‍Identity. Creativity. Emotional body.

This is your life force energy. The space where you feel, create, and experience pleasure.

It governs your emotions, your identity, and your ability to move with the natural flow of life.

💛 Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura)
‍ ‍Worthiness. Drive. Ambition.

This is your personal power.

Your ability to be seen, to take action, and to move forward with confidence and intention.

💚 Heart Chakra (Anahata)
‍ ‍Love. Compassion. Connection.

This is the bridge between the lower and upper chakras. Where the physical and the spiritual meet.

It is the center of love, connection, and emotional healing.

💙 Throat Chakra (Vishuddha)
‍ ‍Communication. Expression. Truth.

This is your voice, your ability to express yourself clearly and authentically.

To speak your truth and allow your inner world to be heard.

💜 Third Eye Chakra (Ajna)
Intuition. Insight. Awareness.

Located inside the pineal gland, directly behind the eyebrows.

This is the seat of your intuition, piercing through illusion.

🤍 Crown Chakra (Sahasrara)
‍ ‍Omnipresent knowing. Connection. Consciousness.

This chakra is your bridge to Source.

It is the space of Divine Connection, and Universal Truth.

How the Chakras Work Together

The chakra system is not separate. Each center works in relationship with the others.

The lower chakras are connected to the emotional body. They govern your sense of safety, identity, and personal power and are often where the ego is driven and expressed.

The upper chakras are connected to awareness, intuition, and higher consciousness.

The heart sits in between bridging the physical and the spiritual - the human experience and the higher self.

Spiritual practices like shadow work create space for clarity. They allow you to become aware of what you feel. To observe without reacting. To participate in the process of healing. Not by forcing it but by allowing what is ready to be seen, felt, and released. This is where awareness begins.

Awareness Changes Everything

Understanding your chakras brings awareness. And awareness is where healing begins.
It acknowledges your inner knowing. It’s the nudge when you feel off, asking you to look at the “why.”

You’ve heard the phrase, “trust your gut.”

That’s your solar plexus, the personal power center, speaking to you. It’s guiding you toward what feels aligned…and what doesn’t.
When something feels uncomfortable, it’s not without reason. It’s asking you to look within.

Instead of ignoring it or pushing past it, ask yourself:

  • Why am I feeling this way?

  • Is a truth is asking to be voiced?

  • What shift is needed for me to feel aligned with who I am?

This is where connection to yourself returns and fear disintegrates.

Your body is always communicating with you. Allow your energy to guide you.

The more you listen, the more you begin to trust what you feel.

And the more you trust what you feel, the more authentic your life becomes. ✨
